2/8/2026 – Dean

Hello! Back to my turn in the rotation. One of the super nice things about working with so many people is that there is a lot of time between my dev logs so I can pick and choose what to report on! For anyone new, I’m Dean, I code on the game as well as manage the project. I’ve been doing a lot of business management lately! I’ve setup the LLC and with the help of @Acius we have setup bank accounts to pay for the website and steam page. Keep an eye out, we will be launching the steam page this week! Besides that, I’ve been working on a lot of little puzzle components, tying new and existing components to the beat. Its no secret that art is HARD and takes time to get right, so when we are playing with new ideas, Adam and I will generally make a simple sprite in Aseprite and use that for now. A funny outcome of this is that Bobbi and Amie will often end up prioritizing art for those components because it looks so out of place.

Two things I worked on recently is crumbling blocks and music box tines. Lets do this one at a time! Crumbling Platform: when the player steps on it, on the next beat the platform will crumble! So far it has been a very useful player to force the player to jump and dash to the rhythm to avoid falling in pits Music Box Tine: The music box tine is one of the main mechanics of the first area of our game. On the beat we configure (any beat or off beat) music box roller will turn and be timed to reach the “tine” (yellow part that plays a note) and if the player is standing on it, they get launched up into the air! Making great progress! Look for news on steam page soon, and enjoy the gifs/video!
