New Music System 5/3/2026

Dean and I collaborated on creating a music system that can add musical layers and transition between layers to make the music respond to the game! As you collect pickups you reach a threshold that causes the music to change. This system will give us a lot of flexibility with what music the player hears and should help us avoid listening fatigue. I’ll continue refining this system and replacing the placeholder sound effects (as you can imagine, slabs of rocks will not sound like lasers in the final game) as we complete the demo! There’s more we’re not going to share yet, but I’m excited about our progress.
